We first met in 2005 in Ashleigh’s dorm room at Wheelock College during her freshman year and Lee’s sophomore year. Lee’s roommate and good friend Keith was dating one of Ashleigh’s roommates and Lee came over one night before going out with Ashleigh’s roommate and Keith. Ashleigh thought Keith’s friend was pretty cute 😉 and was hoping she would get a chance to see him again, but thought he probably already had a girlfriend since he was so good looking!
However, just a few days later Lee got Ashleigh’s AIM screen name and asked her to join Keith and his girlfriend for some ice cream and a movie. Although the movie “A History of Violence” wasn’t much of a success, Lee and Ashleigh were and Lee asked Ashleigh if she wanted to go the Arnold Arboretum with her that weekend. However, if you know Lee, he would never pass up a dodgeball game 😉 and it just so happened that there was a dodgeball tournament that weekend, so they had to postpone their date. Instead, Ashleigh went to cheer on Lee.
The following weekend Lee and Ashleigh finally got to the beautiful Arnold Arboretum and while walking home from the Arnold Arboretum Lee and Ashleigh shared their first kiss and the rest is history 🙂
Lee and Ashleigh are college sweethearts and enjoyed exploring Boston together, a city that has a special place in their hearts ❤ The first couple of summers were tricky with Ashleigh in Maine and Lee in Fairhaven, but they got to see each other on the weekends and couldn’t wait until September when they both would be back in Boston together! The true test was when Lee studied in Germany for a semester in 2008. Ashleigh was able to visit him once while he was away, but it was during that time that they realized they just couldn’t live without each other.
Right now, their life has brought them to NYC! While Ashleigh finishes her graduate degree at Bank Street College and teaches kindergarten at the Parkside School, Lee works at an Architecture firm and teaches at City Tech. We sure are busy right now, but are also finding time to enjoy this exciting new city and at this exciting time in our lives. Oh yeah…and all the while planning our much anticipated wedding day 🙂
